1. About Avocrate
Avocrate is an online platform that helps users discover, compare, register for and, where available, purchase access to workshops, activities, events and other experiences offered by independent organisers, hosts and providers (each an “Organiser”). Avocrate may provide technology for listings, registration, communications, payment processing, confirmations, marketing and related platform services.
Unless a listing expressly states otherwise, the event or activity is provided by the Organiser, not by Avocrate. Avocrate does not own, operate or control every event listed on the Platform. This does not exclude any obligation or liability that Avocrate has under mandatory UAE law.
2. Acceptance of These Terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern access to and use of Avocrate’s website, application, booking functionality and related services (collectively, the “Platform”). By accessing the Platform, creating an account, making a booking or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to these Terms and any event-specific terms presented to you.
If you use the Platform on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation.
3. Eligibility and Accounts
4. Avocrate’s Role and Organiser Responsibilities
Avocrate provides a marketplace and technology service. Organisers are responsible for the events and services they list, including the accuracy of listing information, capacity, staffing, venue arrangements, required permits or approvals, safety measures, event delivery and applicable refunds or remedies.
Organisers must not publish misleading information, infringe third-party rights, or offer an event or service contrary to UAE law. Avocrate may review, reject, suspend or remove listings or accounts where reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law, protect the Platform or enforce these Terms.
Nothing in these Terms removes mandatory consumer rights or legal remedies.
5. Event Listings
Event pages may include dates, times, locations, prices, age ranges, descriptions, images, policies, and other information supplied by Organisers. Organisers remain responsible for the accuracy and completeness of information they provide. Users should review event-specific information before purchasing.
6. Bookings
A booking is confirmed only once full payment for the event has been successfully received online through the Platform. A booking is not confirmed if the payment is declined, reversed or not completed. Once confirmed, you will receive a booking confirmation by email or through your account. Any event-specific terms shown at the time of booking will form part of the agreement between the user and the Organiser.
7. Prices, Fees and Payments
Applicable ticket prices and platform, booking or service fees will be shown before completion of a transaction, subject to applicable taxes and disclosure requirements. Payments may be processed by Avocrate, an Organiser or a third-party payment provider depending on the transaction.
Where VAT or another tax is legally applicable, it may be included in or added to the displayed price as required by law.
8. Cancellations, Refunds and Event Changes
8.1 Cancellations and Refunds
Cancellations and refunds are handled by the Organiser of the event, not by Avocrate. Each event’s cancellation and refund policy will be shown on the event page or at the time of booking. If you want to cancel a booking or request a refund, please contact the Organiser directly.
Where a refund is approved, the time it takes to reach you may depend on the payment provider and your bank. Nothing in this section limits any refund or other remedy you are entitled to under UAE law.
8.2 Event Changes
If there is any change to an event, such as a change in date, time or location, or if the event is cancelled, the Organiser is responsible for contacting each attendee directly to inform them of the change and the options available to them. Any questions about an event change should be directed to the Organiser.
9. Acceptable Use
10. User Content
If you submit reviews, photographs, comments, ratings, messages or other material (“User Content”), you retain ownership. You grant Avocrate a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display and distribute User Content as reasonably necessary to operate, improve and promote the Platform and relevant listings.
You represent that you have the rights and permissions necessary to submit the content and that it does not violate law or another person’s rights. Avocrate may remove content that it reasonably believes violates these Terms or applicable laws.
11. Organiser Content and Marketing
Organisers grant Avocrate a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use listing information, event titles, descriptions, logos, photographs and other supplied materials to operate, display and market the relevant event and Platform, subject to applicable intellectual property and data protection law.
12. Intellectual Property
The Platform and Avocrate-created software, design, branding, logos, text, graphics and other materials are owned by or licensed to Avocrate and protected by applicable law. Except as expressly permitted, you may not reproduce, modify, distribute, sell or commercially exploit them without written permission.
Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of Avocrate or Organiser intellectual property.
13. Third-Party Services
The Platform may integrate with payment processors, mapping providers, communications services, analytics tools, and other third-party services. Those services may have their own terms and privacy policies. Avocrate is not responsible for the independent operation of third-party services except to the extent liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
14. Safety and Participation
Users should review event-specific safety, age, accessibility and participation information and follow reasonable instructions from Organisers and venues. Organisers remain responsible for applicable safety and service obligations.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted under UAE law.
15. Privacy and Personal Data
See our Privacy & Security page.
16. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Platform is provided on an “as available” basis. Avocrate does not guarantee that the Platform will always be uninterrupted, error-free, secure or available at any time or location.
Nothing here excludes statutory guarantees, consumer rights or obligations that cannot lawfully be excluded under UAE law.
17. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable UAE law, Avocrate’s aggregate liability arising directly from a particular booking or transaction will not exceed the lesser of: (a) the amount actually paid by the affected user to Avocrate in connection with that booking or transaction; or (b) AED 1,000.
This limitation does not apply to liabilities or remedies that cannot legally be limited or excluded, including mandatory consumer rights and, where applicable, liability arising from fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or other matters for which UAE law prohibits contractual limitation.
To the extent permitted by law, Avocrate will not be liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, loss of profits, loss of opportunity, or loss of data. This does not limit a remedy that mandatory UAE law requires Avocrate to provide.
18. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to compensate Avocrate for reasonable losses, claims and costs arising from your unlawful use of the Platform, your material breach of these Terms, or infringement of another person’s rights. This does not require you to indemnify Avocrate for losses caused by Avocrate’s own breach of law or obligations.
19. Suspension and Termination
Avocrate may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to address fraud, unlawful conduct, security risks, material breaches, or legal or regulatory requirements. Where appropriate, Avocrate may provide notice and an opportunity to remedy a breach.
Termination does not affect rights or obligations accrued before termination, including valid payment, refund, intellectual property, privacy or dispute-related obligations.
20. Complaints and Informal Resolution
Users should contact Avocrate first so that concerns can be addressed promptly. A notice of dispute should describe the issue, relevant booking or transaction details, and the resolution requested.
Unless a shorter period is required by law or urgent action is necessary, Avocrate and the user will attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute within 30 days after receipt of written notice.
22. Governing Law and Courts
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates and, where applicable, the laws and regulations of the Emirate of Dubai, without prejudice to mandatory laws applicable to a particular transaction.
Subject to any valid arbitration agreement and mandatory consumer rights, the competent courts of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, will have jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or the Platform.
23. Time Limits for Claims
Avocrate’s responsibility for any booking ends once the event has finished. If you have an issue with a booking or with Avocrate’s services in relation to an event, you must raise it with Avocrate before the event ends. After the event has ended, any concern, complaint or claim relating to the event must be raised directly with the Organiser, who is responsible for the event and its delivery.
Nothing in this section removes any right or remedy you have under UAE law that cannot be limited or excluded by agreement.
24. Changes to These Terms
Avocrate may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Platform, law, technology, business practices or arrangements agreed with Organisers. Where a change materially affects users, Avocrate will provide notice by an appropriate method where required by law. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Organisers may, in agreement with Avocrate, set and change event-specific terms, including schedules, venues, eligibility requirements and cancellation conditions. The event-specific terms in effect at the time of booking will be shown before you complete the booking and will form part of that booking.
If an Organiser materially changes an event or its event-specific terms after your booking is confirmed, Avocrate will notify you. You may accept the change or cancel the booking, with any refund handled in accordance with Section 8 and mandatory UAE law.
Changes to these Terms will not apply to bookings confirmed before the change takes effect, unless required by law.
25. Severability
If a provision is held invalid or unenforceable, it will be interpreted or modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable where legally permissible, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
26. No Waiver
A failure to enforce a provision does not constitute a waiver of the right to enforce it later.
27. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and event-specific terms presented at booking, constitute the agreement governing use of the Platform, except where a separate written agreement applies.
